Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me...
I am looking for a list of morphological affixes used in derivational
morphology for English.
eg. anti-, -ness, -th, pseudo-, quasi-, -ish
I have seen estimates of around 75 prefixes and 230 suffixes. Ideally,
this list would come with semantic sub-categorisation.
eg. negation:
a- (as in asexual)
im- (as in immoral)
in- (as in inanimate)
approximation:
pesudo-
quasi-
-ish
Any help is greatly appreciated. Last resort is to generate the list
automatically from MRDs. However, subcategorisation will be difficult
using this approach...
Thanks,
Darren.
